Notes

Belly button cast-on.

Switched to size 1 (2.5 mm) on row 45 because Addi doesn’t make 2.75 needles (apparently).

On Line 105 the last five stitches of the repeat are 3 knits (part of a “stem”) followed by the first half of a mesh (k2tog and one-half of a double yarnover). However, on the following pattern row, Line 107, you are supposed to work into six stitches (the three stem stitches get decreased to two, the k2tog gets a yo,ktbl,yo treatment, then there’s this unknittable ssk. I only have one stitch left (the half of the double yarnover). I can’t “borrow” the other half of the double yarnover for this ssk, because I need it for the k2tog at the beginning of the next repeat.

I’m going to treat the ssk at the end of Line 105 as a plain knit.

(312 rows total)

6/26/16- I haven’t worked on this much lately because once you get past the butterflies, it’s kind of boring. Also, when I got to the halfway point in terms of rows, I decided to do the math and discovered I was only a quarter of the way through the area. That was really depressing.

Starting back up again. Row 172. It’s harder after taking so long away. I don’t have a sense of it in my head anymore.
