Notes

Used 94 grams. If you use a less yarn-hogging bind off, you can probably get away with a bit less.

Total dimensions:
23 sts/41 rows/4” gauge (after blocking)

20” top to bottom along the spine
9.5” of that is the lace border
approximately 40” wingspan

Shawl Body (14 grams):

  • 4 increases per RS row until 170 212 sts (excluding garter edge)
  • Used the kfb-with-no-purl-bump method and it looks pretty good. Much smaller than a YO or lifted bar, and gives minimal disruption to the flow of stitches. I also like that it can lean either way.
  • Even though the increases are for a triangle shawl, the lace blocks out into a nice crescent shape.

Garter edge: 1 worked and 1 slipped stitch (last)

I love Findley on 3s. It’s a nice solid fabric that will show off the lace, but still has plenty of drape.

Omitted double YO on row 91, and no beads. (Only because I didn’t have any!)

Bind off: Used a p2tog with a YO in the middle with a size 7 needle for a nice stretchy bind off. I don’t love it, but it’s fine. If I did it again, I’d knit it so that the chain loops end up on the back. It’s nice and stretchy for blocking, though.
