I loved this pattern. It was like a good friend that went everywhere with me for months. I am sad it is off my needles, but glad to get some use out of it.
The pattern is so well written and easy to follow. I began this project at home and enjoyed the mindless knitting it involves at the beginning. I took it with me to Las Vegas and knitted it on the plane. Then worked on it at the Salon, the playground and just about everywhere I could find a place to sit and knit. It went with me to the Adirondacks in NY. I spent hours working on it swinging on the porch of our friends cabin with the beautiful view of Brant Lake and the mountains. I worked on it at our campsite on our families first camping trip and I worked on it in the truck. And yes I was hoping for traffic so I could have it finished before I got home :)
I loved the yarn I choose for the body of the shawl because it was the same color as my dog (he was a weimeraner). Sadly I was knitting this alongside him the night he passed. This knit will always remind me of him and his constant companionship.
I purchased this yarn at the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival in 2013. I love our trip to the festival. My sisters pack up each year for a girls weekend and it is always such fun time. I feel like this shawl has really traveled! I am looking forward to getting some good use out of it.
Wonderful pattern and I would encourage anyone to knit it. I think it would make an excellent wedding or baby gift. The edging takes some commitment!
