The needle size is actually 0000, but that isn’t an option in the drop-down box. I’m pretty sure the yarn is Perle 8, but the lovely box of balls of yarn that my friend gave me wasn’t labeled. The pattern is taken from one of the medieval Sion purses found in Switzerland. I found the chart in Rutt’s A History of Handknitting. In the original, the pink thread was actually red, but the other colors are at least similar to the original.
