Urumchi Hat Number One

Project info

Notes

This is actually nalbinding. I used the coptic/Tarim stitch, which mimics knitting. The original owner of the original hat lived 2,000 B.C.E. (more or less) The original artifact is the first known example of this stitch, and was found in a tomb in Urumchi in the Tarim Basin (near Mongolia). This hat is wool, and done in a lighter color than the original, which is dark brown.
