I started making these for my husband, hence the drab colour. Then I realised how abnormally high his instep is and that he’d never get his foot past the heel. By that point I was down to the heel in one sock and couldn’t face unravelling and starting again. Looks like I’ll end up finishing them for me…

17th January 2013:

Recently picked these up again after a long time in hibernation. Adapted the toe decreases to every row rather than every other, and worked until there were six stitches left on each needle before grafting the toe. I’ve found the pattern gives a much too pointy toe for my square-ended feet.

13th February 2014:

Picked these up again after a long hibernation period, thinking I must get the final toe finished. Of course, I followed the pattern in the book forgetting how I’d changed it (why didn’t I look here first!) You can see the difference in the two toes in one of the pics. It’s way too pointy, so I’ve just had to frog it and am now trying to get all the stitches back on the needles properly. Ugh. Nearly there, though :)
