Repeat to desired length. In this case 12 repeats.

From second row, after a chain one and turn:

1. Beginning of each row - work in the first stitch of the row, not second.
2. End of each row - work the last stitch in the row V, not the turning chain, then chain one and turn.

Repeat 1 and 2.

First rows (black) in UK double crochet (US SC) to make a tighter edge. For following rows in orange, tried a swatch of half treble crochet UK HTC (US HDC) but decided texture was too close so used treble crochet.

Taking ages to weave in ends. Then face, head, ears, paws.
