A shawl for my mother in the nursing home. Just going into winter so something to keep her warm. Has to be synthetic as not sure what laundry facilities are like. Definitely no handwashing of woollen garments.

Cast on 60. Final dimensions about 1.5 metres long by 1 metre wide.

Rows 1-5 White
Rows 6 - 52 Flamboyant, 2 balls
Rows 53 - 75 White, 1 ball, started on wrong side to get some additional patterning with this fuzzy wool
Rows 76 - 84 Purple
Rows 85 - 105 White, 1 ball, started on wrong side as above
Rows 106 - 151 Flamboyant, 2 balls
Rows 152 - 157 White
Cast off, using lace bind off: P2TOG, slip to left needle, repeat. Produces a really nice edge for purl rows/or grate stitch.

Unfortunately my cast off was tighter than the cast on, so a slightly different width for finished edge. Oh well, who will notice!
