I started this pattern because I wanted to do a shallow shawl using 1 ball of yarn. I usually prefer less traditional construction, so I decided to make this shawl side-to-side.

The edges are slipped for a nice clean edge. I pulled a few of the slipped stitches a little tighter than I liked, so I made sure to include instructions to help with that issue. The slipped stitches need to be extra loose so that the scallopping border will lay nicely. While I made the shallow version, I included instructions for a deeper shawl for those that prefer a more substantial wrap.
