Lynn liked the Tuffy mitts so much, I wanted to make her a fancier pair.

Cast on 40.
Reduce to 35 by ktog every 5 stitches.
Knit 7 inches from turning row, then start increases for thumb. Increase to 13 stitches between markers. Do not knit thumb.. BO9 of the thumb stitches. Knit 10 rows back and forth ( not in round) then rejoin 39 st in round and knit another 4 rows before starting lace section. Finish per pattern.
Single crochet around thumb hole.
This makes a very nice large thumb hole and makes the gauntlet much easier to wear for Lynn. She can pull the glove down over her hand and tuck her thumb in if she’s cold, or scrunch the gauntlet up her arm like a sleeve if she needs to use her hands.
