D’oh! I got one motif shifted over by a column… 9 rounds back. I am not yet brave enough to ladder down and pick up in brioche, especially with shaping, so… that was a lot of tinking. Back up to where I had been now, and I’ve put in a lifeline in case it happens again!

Finished! A couple of notes:

• Definitely didn’t need the full skeins of either. I was worried because the pattern calls for longish skeins, but no worries! I’m a little sad though because if I’d known it would use only half the gradient, I might have chosen a different yarn, or placed the cowl at a different part of the gradient. At the end of the cowl the colours are almost exactly the same so the stitchwork is pretty hidden. Would have been better with more contrast throughout.
• The only modification I made to the pattern was to do a column of brioche at the top of the circles, to match the columns of brioche in between the circles, and then to work a couple of extra rounds before binding off.
• The pattern was very well written! I was a little daunted by the lack of charts, but I don’t know that shaping in brioche would be very easy to chart, so this worked fine. A highlighted row on the pattern was pretty essential to keeping track of where I was!
• I’m looking forward to seeing this blocked out. It’s very dimensional right now!
