Made up the pattern.
Increasing about 6 sts every 2nd row then 4sts every 6th row for the lace/gradient section.
Worked garter stitch for about 10 rows using coil yarn then worked a feather/fan stitch in last rows (but didn’t work increases for this section - just increased 18sts in first row)

For the feather and fan pattern (after a few maths calculations) on the last rows and I used every skerrick of the yarn plus some extra of a slightly different homespun for the cast off edge.

This won first prize at the Benalla Spring Show 2014
