Found this marvelous mandala being made by a group of hookers on a Russian site. By following links I found all the examples being made and took my cue for colorways from the beautiful orange based creation of Vyugov http://www.stranamam.ru/photo/12710059/.

The Google translation of the Russian pattern was hilarious gobbledygook, so I basically followed the images & have probably not got it all quite right with back loops & Back Pole dc clusters, but I’m happy with results so far.

101217 - Decided not to do the whole large floor rug, as per the Russian pattern. I want to hang my work on wall and it would be too large & heavy. So I’m making several with differing colorways. Maybe next winter for the full catastrophe. Summer storm season now, small wool projects easier to handle.
