My Daddy used to always show me the stars. We had this awesome telescope and I remember being amazed that we could look at the planets! I knew I had to knit this :)
It reminds me of A Clear Night at Maple Lake.
This shawl was love at first sight! Happy to finally be casting this on. I bought three different type of beads, Some Purple-Blue, some Clear Silver-lined, and lastly dark Hematite. After swatching I decided choice A wasn’t very celestial, choice B kind of looked cheap, wile choice C gave just the right amount of sparkle while still looking sleek!
My plan is to use the Lunar Tide Shawl’s edging like AnOtterChaos as I love how her’s turned out!
It took a few tries to cast on but I’m satisfied with it now, the first three charts fly!
3.14- Finished Charts A,B,&C.
3.15- Worked on Chart D
After setting this aside for several months, I picked it up again!
7.30- I’ve finally worked out the best system for me! Before I knit a row, I do all of my counting. I have two colors of locking stitch markers, Blue and Orange. Where I know I’m doing a YO,K2tog I hook the two stitches together with orange. When I get to it, I yarn-over then work the K2tog, then mark the new single stitch with a blue marker, then on the following round I’ll be able to feel a bead will go there. It then works out that I can continuously knit until a marker finds itself under my finger. I found, that trying to count as I knit, didn’t work with two munchkins, a puppy, and a busy husband carrying on.
7.31 Up to row 80! Was very very excited by this until I found the link to show you the percentage completed based on your progress. It being a Circular shawl, it’s hard to tell, but I’m at 23.5%. A but soul-crushing? Yes. But this isn’t a sprint by any means :)
9.09 After another break I picked this up again and managed to complete the D charts! This means I’m on row 102 now!
