Used this pair of socks as an opportunity to clean up and start writing out my default sock pattern with a few additional tweaks.

Tweak #1: Princess sole were I didn’t purl the sole of the sock. Worked the socks with a knit sole and worked the heel flap with the slipped stitch side reversed. Then when the socks are flipped inside out, the smooth stockinette is against the foot and the heel flap is right side out.

Tweak #2: Added calf increases in pattern at a rate of one increase row for every 2 plain rows. Added a total of 16 sts. Probably could have gotten away with a few less, but I maintained a 2x2 rib.

Notes: It’s a good thing I bought two skeins of this yarn because there were several knots and no attempt to keep the stripe pattern. Managed to pull together enough from the two balls to make matching socks.
