Begin 3 repeats of old shale lace pattern (18sts each repeat)

Tail: kfb each st, then k2p2 ribbing, after 10 rows , beg inc on every knit rib (RS), continue 10 rows, beg inc on every knit rib (WS), work 10 more rows, beg divide sts to half. Work short rows for each half until 2 knit rib rem, bind-off Icelandic way. Work short rows the other half of the tail in the same way.

FROGGED the tail because ribbing makes the tail shrink in size. Re-knit according to the pattern i.e. garter sts.
