The pattern doesn’t mention what gauge the lining should be. I’m making the medium size, and my gauge is 7 stitches by 8 rows per inch. This seems to be working with the pattern so far (I’ve just finished the thumb gusset).

10/2/12 Picked up the book today :) I got gauge with the recommended needles too! Picture is my gauge swatch. Love the colours.
Finished the picot edge bit. Joining the two edges was pretty fiddly, but I think being tired made it more difficult.

11/2/12 Finished the cuff charts and about to start the main chart :) Looks like a good fit so far!
Finished round 35 of the main chart tonight. Nearly finished the Narwhal’s head! :) Also, my colour work has improved. Yay!

12/2/12 Just the thumb to go on the first outer mitten, then onto the lining! It’s a little snug across his palm but I’m pretty sure blocking will sort that out :)

13/2/12 Finished the thumb and started on the lining.

15/2/12 Finished the first mitten! :)

21/2/12 Started the second one!
