Long tail cast on using both ends of cake.
Used 5.5mm needles to do this giving a slightly larger Counterpane section.
For Row 14 i changed to 4.5mm needles and substituted one purl row, one knit row, one purl row to give a slight waist in fabric prior to Cellular stitch pattern.
Continued on with 4.5mm needles.
Unblocked lengths -
Loop -15 cm (6in) could have been 17 cm.
Counterpane fan - 7cm (2.75in) with extra 3 rows of st. st. This is limited by the thinner wool and blocks out ok
Body is 51cm (20in) from top of fan to start of loop.

{ my thought is if Manda wants another one next year, is at the start off the loop to increase (M1) between stitches the extra 15 stitches and leave live on stitch holder for the 3 needle bind off }
