Notes

Notes for 3-needle bind off:
1) Number of stitches need to match on both peices.
2) End knitting on purl row.

4-8-2015 - Stayed up late last night and learned the 3 needle bind off technique. However I discovered that I dropped a YO stitch at the BO seam after I completed the BO. Now I am about to learn how to tink back a 3 needle BO. :o)

I LOVE this yarn! However moving forward I will knit with it on projects with bigger needles, and straight knitting / color work. Won’t be knitting lace projects with Shibui Linen that require small needles any time soon :-) I need to build my skill level first! Ha!

3-28-2015 - Finished my Botanical Cowl, now this project is back in the front of the line. This is a slow growing object compared to my recent projects, but this is so worth finishing, it’s beautiful!

3-8-2015
Waking this project back up. I was in a tinking mood so I tinked back to the dropped stitch and got her going again. I’m working on a Citron project right now with super long knitting rows, so I’ll alternate between the two projects for now. Looking back at my notes, this has been on hold for too long!

11-21-2014
This has not been a knitting year for me. I am almost finished with this however, there is a dropped stitch that has to be fixed which means a big tink back. This going on hold until late winter.

6-22-14
Too busy to focus on this knit with travel and other summer activities.

3-21-2014
Time to finish this project, first day of spring!

12/3/2013
This project is on hold for now because of Christmas knitting. I am so happy that I finally got the hang of this pattern. This is my second attempt at lace knitting, so it’s slow going because I’m teaching myself. I will finish after the holidays. I plan to make this scarf in Navy for my sister this spring. It’s a beautiful pattern, I’m glad I got it!

11/8/2013 - finished the first half again, the right way this time! Going slow, because I don’t have much knitting time. I love this knit though. I plan to make one for my sister next spring.

10-4-2013 - Begin again!
I started over because I read the pattern wrong! I was reading left to right and I didn’t read the yo k2tog correctly. I was knitting something that was not the actual pattern!

I’ll add a new picture shortly. I’m glad I started over the fabric even better now that I am knitting the right stitches :-) and I am knitting with the right type of needles. The knitting is going much faster as well.

9-19-2013
Error free knitting day!!

Why didn’t I think of the bamboo’s needles sooner? Well you knit and learn. I can see myself making a few items with this Shibui Linen yarn, I love it!

I would love to knit a tank top with this yarn.

9-18-2013 - I got my bamboo circular needles, I just knit 4 mistake free rows like it was nothing. Knititng this yarn with stainless steel needles is insane!!! Don’t do it!!! I will finish this scarf for certain now!!

9-15-2013
I might order a bamboo circular needle to finish the second half because part of my problem is that my stainless steel needles are too slippery. My work slides of the end of the needle a few times now… This yarn would do better with a needle that has more grip.

Update 9-14-2013
I have been ultra busy this summer, too busy to knit however I am making progress on this shawl. I am about to finish the first half. I have made so many errors that I had to tink back because I’m a newbie lace knitter but I’m growing in my confidence. This is going to be a stunning scarf indeed when finished. I should be able to speed up progress now that I have finished my son’s hat in time for his birthday. Now I can enjoy guilt free knitting! LOL

Update 7-2-2013
I frogged and started over with a US 2 needle. It looks neater. I started over on chart 2 by mistake and mixed myself up for a bit.

This is my first diagram only pattern. I have to knit this linen yarn and wear it before summer’s end.
