First pair finished !
I’m planning to knit another pair, and hopefully get two closer in size.
I usually knit things two at a time because of this phenomenon :)

I’ll add how I worked the pattern when I’m done the second pair. I pretty much followed it as is, it’s just a tad hard to tell what is meant in parts.

I made the smaller size as follows:

Cast on 34 stitches. Knit garter stitch until work is 8 cm (roughly 24 garter ridges)
Knit the next 22 stitches, turn
Knit 10 stitches, turn
Work the center 10 stitches (ignoring the 12 on either side) until work is 12 cm (an additional 9 ridges or so)
Pick up 12 stitches on the sides of the center stitches you’ve been knitting on for a total of 58 sts.
Knit 6 garter ridges.
The sole:
Knit 33, k2tog, turn.
Knit 9, k2tog, turn.
Work the center 10 stitches again, knitting the 10th together with one of the side stitches until you have 4 side stitches on each side.
Bind off (nothing fancy just don’t make it too tight) and sew down the leg and across half the heel with one yarn end, and the other half of the heel with the other yarn end, weave in.
