Made as part of the Knit Vogue #18 in 2018 KAL!
My gauge is slightly larger than what the pattern calls for, so a little bit of math resulted in casting on for the 38” and expecting to get the 39.5”. My bust is 37”, so that should get me the proper amount of ease.
Planned mods: Shortening the body by at least 4 inches and no waist shaping.
3/20/18: Finished both sleeves and the lower body. Lower body knitted to two lace chart repeats, approximately 9 1/2 inches from cast on edge, unblocked. Sleeves knitted to 11 inches from cast on edge, unblocked, before joining to main body of garment.
3/26/2018--GRAAHHHHH!!!! Had to rip out nearly a week’s worth of knitting because of stupid pattern errata at the sleeve and yoke join that didn’t become apparent until I was nearly done with the decreases. When will I learn to check the VK website before starting ANY of their patterns!!??
4/11/2018--Finished the knitting and seaming last night. Currently blocking. Buttons selected and waiting.
4/12/2018--Sewed buttons and wove in ends. Waiting for spouse availability so he can shoot a modeling session.
4/14/2018 Modeling session complete!
In hindsight, I should have re-calculated the waist shaping for the shortened torso because it’s just a little too boxy without it, but I’m still pleased with the end result.
Mod notes: Because the body was shortened by about 7 inches, picking up stitches for the button band/neck edging was accomplished by picking up 3 stitches for every four rows as follows: 89 from cast on along right front edge to marker, knit according to pattern to next marker, from marker pick up 89 down left front edge to cast on edge.
