BEADS: 32 Toho 6/0 glass seed beads, color Metallic.
BUTTONS: 7 vintage buttons from stash. Glass/metal/bakelite. Non-matching but similar. Purchased at a Stitches event some years ago.
The 38 turned out a trifle big, but not so big that it’s unwearable. Making a note to myself: if I ever knit this again, make one size smaller and block it out a little larger. And knit all the seed stitch edgings with a size 2 or 3 needle instead of a 4.
7/20/2019--Finished sewing on the buttons last night. Modeled shots taken this evening. The button band is a little loose and gappy, but I. Don’t. Care.
7/18--Re-knit the cuff on the first sleeve with the smaller needle. Still not as tight as I’d like, but better. Starting the button bands now.
7/9/2019--Working on the second sleeve. Not happy with how loose the seed stitch cuff was on the first sleeve. Will go down a needle size when I get to the cuff on this sleeve. If I like it better, I’ll re-knit the first cuff. Because I’m petite, I began the cuff instructions as soon as I finished the decreases. Arm was 16” long at that point, instead of knitting until it was 17”.
5/25/2019--Coming out of the waist shaping now. Love how the beads look on the yoke. At this point I realized I should have done the waist shaping over fewer rows because the cardigan is going to end up an inch or two longer than I really like. Not worth ripping back and reknitting, though.
4/6/2019--Was up to row 23 on the yoke chart when I noticed a major error waaaaayyyyy back in the cabling. So I ripped it out back to row 3 (sigh) of the yoke chart and started over. This time I’ll do beads instead of bobbles.
3/26/19--I’m on the first bobble row and remembering how much I hate bobbles. Half considering tinking back and replacing the bobbles with beads. But that involves going to Michaels’. Who has time???
3/16/19--On row 6 of cable chart. Slow going because of outside activities.
