Notes

I’ve not worked with this yarn before although I have previously made another sweater from this book that I was very happy with. I love this vibrant grungey green/bronze colour way - although it looks odd alongside the late summery weather and colours I’m wearing now I think it will be perfect for the cooler months.

31st Oct: finished and this was a straightforward knit. Nothing too complicated so good mindless knitting for in meetings or in front of the TV.

I had mild concerns about the yarn as the piece grew by at least 10% on blocking. While knitting the garment had a nice tight, springy texture but it became floppy and a bit droopy. As it dried some of the structure did return and it fluffed up a bit, but the end result is more floppy and fluid than it appeared while I was making it/trying it on. (Before starting I did do a swatch).

I think in future if I make a long cardigan in this yarn I would probably do it in pieces and seam it to give it a bit more structure.

On the plus side this is a very comfortable yarn to wear and does not feel at all itchy, despite being 100% wool.
