Notes

I could not resist knitting this! I had already bought yarn with the intention of making a nautical tee and I absolutely loved the little shoulder panels with stripes running in a different direction.

Note:
Last garment image is a RTW top by Toast (spring 2021) that I’m using for colour inspo.

Aiming to do stripe very similar to Heidi’s sample but with white (Toasted Coconut colourway) as the dominant colour.

Got width gauge with 3.25mm needle although row gauge is slightly off so will have to measure to make sure it comes up the target size.

Yoke section coming together nicely. The tip about blocking the small shoulder triangles before picking up edge stitches in the pattern was a good one: my yarn is cotton/linen so I used a steam iron and then a small crochet hook and it went well.

Stripe: to get the look I’m after and manage the amount of yarn I have I’m going for 6:4 white:navy for the stripe.

All working out well with gauge and following pattern as written. Feeling the pressure a little with a sleeve, all ribbing and 5ins more body to knit yarnstuck_out_tongue_winking_eye

Well it’s 2 days until the pattern launches and I knitted day and night (no kidding!) all weekend BUT still have one sleeve left to go.

Unsure if I’ll reach the finish line, as all my estimates about how long a certain piece should take to knit have been way off for some reason.

On the plus side, I have a really nice sweater coming together!

All finished as per pattern!

Very nice pattern, easy to follow with diagrams that made sense to me.

I chose to make the sleeves 9 1/2 ins before ribbing because I wanted an elbow length sweater, this still allowed for all the sleeve decreases as written.

I would recommend this yarn for this pattern, I think it’s a good match!
