Had the sudden mad desire to start a red vest. So I am.
This was the quickest sweater I’ve ever made - okay so it’s a worsted weight vest, but the fact I finished in 11 days is pretty amazing. I love it.
It’s also my first garment in Malabrigo. Mmmmm…Malabrigo
Took a quick photo with my cell phone, hopefully will take some better ones with my real camera soon
Several mods (most are for me so sorry if it doesn’t make sense):
followed a lot of mindifiknit mods
worked to 10.5 inches in 2x2 ribbing
worked to about 16 inches before splitting off for the armholes.
I don’t like high necked sweaters and i plan to be wearing this over something, so I actually started the neckline on the 6 decrease row instead of 12 + seven plain rows as suggested in the pattern. So i started the neck after 3 decreases on each side, then had a count of 27 28 27 for the front.
continued to work arm decreases along with neck decreases.
row 1 (after BO) 2tog on arm edge
row 2 2 tog on neck edge
row 3 2tog on arm edge
row 4 even
row 5 2 tog on arm edge, 2 tog neck edge
Then decreased on the k1p1 row on the neck edge until 12 st remain
worked until arm hole = 9”
I didn’t realize that the pattern had different decreases for the arm holes for the back, until i had done a couple of rows, but just decided to go with it - i wasn’t sure why it was that way. worked the 6.5 before splitting the back opening.
Kept there rest of the back the same, though added 2 extra decreases to have the straps match the front.
did 3 needle bindoff for the straps.
did the armholes & collar as written, though bound off with a size 8 needle
