A bit more work than I had expected, but I love the result! On October 21 my beautiful little niece Linde was born, and she and her parents have been using this blanket frequently ever since. They absolutely love it!
7/10: Finishd the lining :). In time, the baby hasn’t arrived yet!
23/9: Finished knitting!! Yeey! I ordered a piece of white flannel with black dots to line it with, hopefully it’ll arive soon. The only problem now is that I tied off the black yarn for the heads and feet with a knot, but the yarn turns out to be a little bit slippery so the knots are becoming undone. I’m now making a new knot around them with some sewing thread. Two knots per sheep to reinforce, 49 sheep, that’s a lot of knots to tie!
14/8: … 33 sheep, 34 sheep, 35 sheep, ZZZ….
2/8: Finished the intarsia-part of sheep row 4. I should speed up…
17/6: Did the second row of sheep, in a different way. I’m now not doing proper intarsia in between the sheep. I thread the sheep-yarn through the last stitch before the sheep to prevent ladders. I think it works just as well, just a little bit less stretchy, but way faster en fewer ends to weave in.
2/6: I finished the first row of sheep! Except for their heads and legs that is, only one of them made it that far ;). My bf remarked that it looked more like traditional lace making than like knitting, haha! So many loose ends… But I didn’t get tangled up and managed, and they look lovely! I weaved in all the ends before I continued knitting, if I leave all that to the end then I’ll go crazy. Intarsia-knitting really isn’t my big love, I found that out already. Everything for the end-result, then, and in the mean time I’ll start thinking about the lace-project that I’ll knit after this one ;).
26/5: Casted on for real!
I couldn’t find the pattern, so I’m copying it from what I can see in other projects.
I wanted to do this using duplicate stitch, but that really didn’t turn out nicely when I swatched it. Going to try my hand at intarsia knitting then!
