I absolutely loved this project. The pattern knits up easily. The pattern itself is actually pretty simple, but the result is stunning. My sister made a good choice, picking this one as a birthday gift.
I did this one in Scrumptious Lace, a nice lace weight yarn in a beautiful deep colour. And there’s so much yardage on the skein that I’m pretty sure I can make another one out of it. I used colourless glass beads, which look like dew drops. No attention seekers, but beautifully subtle.
I made the size with 181 stitches in the body and repeated chart B two times. I followed the pattern exactly, except for the cast on. I prefer to use a provisional cast on for those first two stitches, that just makes it easier for me to pick them up afterwards.
And for some reason I had two stitches too few when I started chart A, so I just made one on each side to get to the right number. It’s practically invisible.
April 15: Finished knitting yesterday, and blocking today. Pictures tomorrow?
April 12: Starting bind off.
April 3: Finished Chart B for the second time.
March 29: Did I mention how much I love this project?
March 23: Finished Chart B for the first time. I love how easy this project is, exactly what I needed.
March 10: Oh I forgot how much I love knitting lace. Love love love this project. Halfway through chart B now.
March 4: Finished the body. But somehow, I ended up with 179 stitches instead of 181, no idea where I went wrong. So I made one on each side to get to the right number.
Jan 31: Cast on. As usually, I used a provisional cast-on for those first two stitches. Just makes it easier for me to pick them up later.
