July 15: This will be a plain sock with a Round (French) Heel and a Rounded Wedge Toe.
CO 72 sts on US 2 needles. Knit the rest of the socks on US 1 (2.25mm) needles.
Used info from this Susan B Anderson blog.
These socks are for my son. He wears US 11-1/2 to 12 size shoes. His foot measures 11”. I knit 8-9/16 inches from the heel and then began the toe decreases.
Toe Decreases:
I am trying Patty Lyon’s left leaning decrease (like an ssk) as described in her new book Knitting Bag of Tricks. It’s a nice alternative to SSK.
Rounded Wedge Toe:
(Decrease, Knit two rows) repeat 4 times. This adds 12 rows. 56 sts remaining.
(Decrease, knit 1 row) repeat 4 times. Adds 8 rows; 40 sts remaining.
Decrease every row until 24 sts remain. This adds 4 rows.
Kitchener close.
Tow decreases span 20 rows.
I finished everything but the toe back in 2022. It just languished in the dark dungeons of WIPs for all this time. I’m glad I found it and finally finished it!
