I followed the modifications here to add a cuff: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/ljg456/a-hat-fit-for-a-bo...

Basically, I just reversed the ribbing and did about 2 inches of P3, K2 rib before switching to the original pattern, and I also knitted this about 6.5 inches before starting the decreases, so that it would cover my friend’s ears.

Also added a little striping, just because. :)
