Dave and I finally have started watching Game of Thrones - so I thought I should make a project on that theme. Turns out I already had this one in my favorites - I like the chain mail look on the bottom and hoods are a nice alternative to hats.
I will have to supplement this with another stash yarn as it does seem I don’t have enough of the primary left. I think it should work as they are both the same texture - even if not the same brand or color. Both do have plum purple in them though so that also will help. I just need to do stash busting anyway.
8/30: ended up running out of the green yarn and my gauge is way off and I found a few skeins of the similar texture yarn in purple (but I can’t remember what brand or name it was - should have enough to do this entire project, though). So I removed my needles and cast-on again in the new color. the green to teal to purple stripes weren’t really working for me after all, anyway.
Used size 6 needle for long-tail cast on and to round 6, then switched to size 8. Considered only casting on 100 instead of the 120 in the pattern but decided to go again as written and see how sizing goes since this yarn is a little bit thinner.

9/9: THIRD time’s a charm? I started over as well - was messing up lace section too much and tried it on and it was really big SO decided to try again with my 3rd skein and using mods found in http://www.ravelry.com/projects/darkmoon/aryas-water-danc...
I am still using the size 7 and 8 needles as I don’t want the fabric to be so stiff and my length seems to be about on gauge. I just need to make the circumference smaller.
Was having an issue with first 6 rows flipping back on itself. I think its because I used a needle 2 sizes smaller. Now that I am using the 7 it is laying very flat and even curving inward just a bit - should fit nicely around my face the way it does in the model photo.
I am also planning to put the buttons down the front panel instead of the back so that section I need to do in reverse.
