Error in the written pattern on Row 17. Should read:
Row 17: p2 k3 yo k1 yo k3 p2 k9
Loving this yarn - gorgeous bright color and very soft and easy to work with. Shows off stitches well. I used almost all 3 skeins for this with one repeat of rows 24-31 as indicated in the pattern to get the length I wanted. I also did 4 additional rows at the bottom of garter stitch to match the neckline and this cast off method
CO I think would be notated as k2, insert left needle back into front of 2sts, yo backwards and knit stitches together. Gives a nice stretchy cast off that puts the braided edge on the actual edge and not sitting on the side. Will have to remember to use this in the future.
I am wearing the poncho now even though I still need to try and block it a bit but I like how it keeps my shoulders warm but lets my arms breathe and stay cool. I never had been much for ponchos but this could grow on me. I may have to make more ;)
I downrated the pattern by one star because there were errors (but I think the author has since fixed) and measurements or schematic would be helpful. The charted version seems to be more accurate and I hope the author would revise the written pattern. That being said I found this particular chart hard to follow and while I usually prefer charts I used the written instructions for this project as the repeats aren’t too terribly long or complex. I do like the results of this very much, though. :)
