Notes

I love this as well - the peek of lace, the option to stripe since I don’t have enough of one yarn and I think the lace would do best on a solid color.

7/14: finished part 1 and first lace panel. Think I might be 1 stitch off but looks fine anyway.

7/16: appears I’ll run out of the Hawthorne if I don’t stripe a little more of the Palette so I’m going to do that in the bottom half. Knit Picks does not carry Montavilla colorway anymore.

7/19: I had to rip and re-do Part 2 lace section 2-3 times because I kept getting off! My final attempt is still wrong - I can see a blip in the lace at one point where I must have yo or did the wrong direction decrease. I also repeated the top box only twice instead of 3 times and didn’t catch that until too late. It doesn’t seem to be making a difference too much on the final although I can see I am missing 2 YO holes on one part. Doesn’t seem to be noticeable.

I was mostly striping with starting on the RS and going back on the WS. Now I will also play with starting on the WS and changing to second color on RS and back again on WS to main. It really pops out the rainbow a bit more since the color changes are so short on this yarn. Will try to fade it a bit as I approach the bottom of the shawl.

7/23- shortening up my part 4 as I’ve almost run out of the Montavilla already! I would have enough of the blue Palette to continue as written but I didn’t really want that much blue at the bottom. I think I’ll just do 10 rows in section 4 and then start the last lace section. And then finish up with 6 rows. Considering what I want to do for the cast-off edge as I don’t like the plain one, and not sure on the picot edge either.
ran out of MC yarn just before end of row 10 - spliced the blue in.

7/29 - finished CO last night FINALLY - took a few hours spanned over a few days. Nice cast-off though and works well with top edge. Blocking now.

7/30 It’s blocked and it’s BEAUTIFUL! Cuddled up in it last night as I started my next project.
