Needles - 2.75mm & 3.25mm
Adding Totoro to the calf, Denim Blue for the umbrella, Charcoal for Totoro.
Knitting 15 rounds of 2x2 ribbing, knit 10 rounds, move 28 sts to 1 needle to work 22 sts of chart, work 44 rounds of chart, knit 33 rounds, place afterthought heel marker, knit 5” to toes.
After 5 tries, finally found that to undo the charted area, using the same method as the afterthought heel at the blue row to do the separation from the foot, and reknit the chart and above with 3.25mm needles was to only way for the sock to no feel too tight. Finally, the Totoro socks are done. whew
Chart details
Eliminating Totoro text around the bottom.
Eliminating the 1st 2 rows of edging on left and last row of edging on right. ROUND 1 of chart: Knit 3 stitches, place marker (edge of chart). Knit 8 stitches in MC, K 5 sts in CC1 (Denim Blue).
Last chart round is ring in Demin Blue with 13 sts of Totoro’s body in Charcoal, knit 5 rounds in MC, start heel shapping in Denim Blue.
