Notes

Knitted exactly per pattern - this is a really thick and weighty, colourwork shawl.

Only mod was to add an i-cord bind off - I felt the shawl really needed a robust edging and I noted some edge roll on other FOs.

Buggery!!! Managed to slighly felt the garment whilst washing - the malabrigo is very sensitive to agitation. It seems to have only affected the last colourwork section and caused a little puckering against the superwash. Almost considered pulling back and re-knitting, though I haven’t any malabrigo or MC left to do this, so i’m afraid something I’ll have to live (with) and learn from. C’est La vie.

Colour: the beautiful green tones of the malabrigo hasn’t really been captured in these images. Though if you view the final pic of the tassel, you’ll get a greater idea of the shade variation in the colourwork. It really is lovely stuff - aside from being really sensitive to heat and agitation.

Yarn: Held the Flora and Karisma together. This creates a really lovely fabric. Super soft with lovely tonal variation.

Pattern Note: you really need long needles for this one. I went up to 100cm (suggest 120cm+) and began working two needles as if straights - as you near the end of the pattern, working with the weight of the fabric and the amount of stitches is a bit of a mission. It’s certainly hard working with a singular circular and moving the stitches along.

Iron Isles: for all you Game of Thrones fans, Ballintoy, County Antrim, Northern Ireland is the place to visit. It’s where the scenes for any House of Greyjoy/Iron Isles is filmed and what a location! The wild Atlantic whipping up against the volcanic rocks, all sandwiched between mountains and hills - so atmospheric and awe-inspiring.
