Notes

Finally, using up the Orkney Angora I picked up last year in Orkney (a fabulous little wool shop in Kirkwall called ’A Yarn’ that is so worth visiting, if you get the chance) - I had intended it for another knit, a cowl, but that never quite materialised (a bit of a ‘theme’ with my knitting - never quite happened).

The Angora is beautifully soft and light, with a lovely halo. It feels really special. And, whilst I had purchased other wool for this hat design (Wool+ Mohair), I had a last minute change of heart and opted to use the Angora instead…and I’m glad I did!

This hat can be worn two-ways - there is a deep rib that can be worn as is, or folded over to create a beanie or slouchy-style hat. The lace-work is really very intuitive and easy to follow/do and the crown shaping is spot-on.

Generally, the combination of deep ribbing and then delicate lace, combined with a super soft and slightly fuzzy fabric - is just inspired. Another super design and welcomed addition to my mahooosive hat collection #TheMadHatter

Mods: there are none. Only, I’ve added a (small) pompom, of course!
