Another pattern I’ve had in mind for some time, but only just gotten around to knitting - it’s a lovely little tee, with simple lace detailing and inset capped sleeves. I’ve opted to use a pure wool, though I think something slightly silkier, may produce a nice drape.
Gauge: I’ve had to go up to a 4.5mm to attain something close to the pattern 18 Sts per 10cm. I’ve actually attained a blocked gauge of 20 Sts x 30 Rows per 4”.
Sizing: Final blocked measurements are as follows,
Bust 30”
Bottom Hem: 36”
Length from underarm: 14”
Mods:
I’ve only included two waist increases and knitted the underarm to approx. 14”. I really didn’t want this tee to be super long. I tend to like my pullovers to sit just on my jeans waistband.
Lace detailing: Only after blocking, did I notice that you end up with 4.5 ‘diamonds’ for the smaller sizing. I note other Ravellers have adapted the lace pattern to centre the diamonds and rid of the incomplete diamond. I personally think, it really isn’t that obvious when wearing and thus I haven’t been too frustrated with this discovery.
Wool: discovered Isle Yarns via a Countryfile feature and loved their ‘business ethos’ and in particular their landscape-inspired, natural colourways. The 4ply is 100% Dorset wool. Reared and sheared on their farm on the Isle of Purbeck. Spun at a local traditional mill and sold direct from the farm. It really is lovely stuff and this particular shade is a very delicate blue-silver-grey. Very reasonably priced too, with 100g costing approx. £12 (excluding P&P). Well worth looking into and adding to your stash!
Overall: a thumbs up. completely wearable and perfect little tee for May-June. The pure wool may prove a little too warm come July/August?! Have considered wearing over a shirt/dress, as a sort of ‘vest’ as the weather cools and we enter Autumn, perhaps.
