Did a few changes to the pattern as written:
I cast on 82 st on 16” circular needles, knit 6 rounds of K1,P, to rib the beginning inch, then knit a complete round and then increased 8 more st on the next round with m1 to have a total of 90 st for the bulk of the hat.

I knit to 5” before crown shaping. 17” circumference and 7.25” tall.

This is a pastel rainbow of colors to end in a pink pom-pom.
