9/14/12: it’s blocking! I absolutely love this sweater. A very practical knit that I think I will wear a lot. Stockinette can be so boring, but the construction kept me engaged in the pattern. The Silky Wool is fabulous and looks great in this design.

Measurements before blocking (all measurements taken with edges straight, no rolling) –

• underarm to end of sleeve: 17.75”
• top of shoulder to bottom edge: 20”
• across back from the underarms: 17.5”
• back yoke from bottom edge of rev. stockinette rows below the neckline to top of rev. stockinette rows across back: 5.75”
• front panels beginning at side “seam”: 8.5”

My gauge swatch was right on after washing and patting out to dry.

Found drawing a diagram with vertical lines showing my markers, the row numbers inserted down the left side, and the increases and decreases drawn along the marker lines worked well for keeping things straight. Drew everything to read from right to left so it worked like a chart.

Love the app Knit Counter that’s on my iPhone. Having the capability of entering increases, decreases and an alert when something special was going on, made counting rows a breeze.

Followed coilycurly’s suggestion (she credits trianne) for picking up stitches on both the body and collar: picked up and knit one stitch for every row; evenly decreased to proper number on the next row back. Worked great! Thanks!
