Starting ch 82 with 7.5 hook. Then switched to K.
Bubbles Blanket for Charity
The bubbles make this blanket very squishy. The pattern is not holely so little fingers can’t get caught in the design! This is an easy pattern since you are working into the sc of the previous row. A border is not needed but can be added if you want. Use yarn and hook of your choice. You want the blanket to have a nice drape so use a large enough hook. Make the starting chain with one size larger hook to be sure it is loose enough. When working into a stitch always go under two strands.
Make a loose chain as wide as you want your blanket to be and remember that it MUST be a multiple of 3 + 1.
Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook, sk 2, sc in next ch, 2 dc in same ch repeat from * to * until last 3 st’s, sk 2, sc in last ch. Ch 3, turn.
Row 2: Dc in 1st st (base of turning ch), sk 2, sc and 2 dc in next st (it is the sc of the previous row), repeat from * to * until last 2 st’s, sc in sp between ch 3 and dc of last round. Turn.
Repeat row 2 until piece measures desired length. Fasten off and weave in ends.
If you want more detail and no abbreviations for row 2:
Row 2: Place marker in the top of the turning chain (the chain that is closest to the hook), double crochet in 1st st (which is the base of turning ch), skip 2 stitches, then make a single crochet and 2 dc in next stitch (it is the single crochet the short stitch of the previous row), repeat from * to * until last 2 stitches, then make a single crochet in the big space between chain 3 and double crochet of the last round. Chain 3, turn.
Repeat row 2 until the blanket is the desired size.
