The pattern calls for size one needles, but I only had size two and we were going on a trip so that is what I used along with the above acrylic yarns (used grey instead of “heather” as called for in the pattern).

I wanted to make size 18 - 24 months so I used the instructions for the 2 year old size. They came out measuring 4-3/4” (14 cm) which I hope should stretch just right to fit an 18 - 24 month old.

I am used to knitting on my knitting machine and decided to hand knit these as a car trip project. It seemed like they took f-o-r-e-v-e-r! It was probably the combination of small needles, fingering weight yarn, larger size and driving through the mountains. :-P

They ended up looking a little large in the ankle, but I think they will make nice house slippers.
