Notes

I wanted to makes something for my daughter’s friend who is having a baby boy this May - and it would need to be something to go through the summer months. I decided a vest would be a good idea as it can be worn all seasons - like with a short sleeved polo in the summer.

I purchased a 6-9 month vest at Goodwill to use as the pattern ($1.50) and copied the pieces to my knit leader. I found a 24 stitch punchcard argyle pattern online and punched out a card to use. The Goodwill vest is the one on the left and my vest is the one on the right in the bottom photo of both vests. I love my knitleader - the size came out perfect! Tension 7 on mainbed, 4 on ribber.

This is my first vest, first v-neck, and second project since I have had a ribber. I learned a lot, as always. Thank you Diana Sullivan for easy video instructions on the ribbing bind off (smiles and frowns).

I will purchase a polo shirt and pants to put in the gift with this.
