I am plying some of my lace and fingering weight yarns to create worsted weight yarns.
I knitted both heads by knitting them in intarsia in the round. First time to try this. Always forging new knitting techniques! This YouTube video helped me some:

I used tiny black buttons for the eyes. They are available at your local Hobby Lobby or online here:

I knitted the body in the round. I did not bind off at the end, but instead, stuffed it and drew the yarn tail through the remaining stitches and pulled it shut. The yarn tail can be kept long after knotting and securing it to sew the head on.
I knitted the 4 arms in the round. Holy cow, this is tedious until you get a couple of 6 stitch rows on your needles, but I would rather deal with that than seam them all!
** (see Note below) I knitted the skirt in the round. To do this you will need to pick up the 24 stitches at row 14 (the center row of the body piece) with the light blue side down instead of up so that the stockinette stitch is facing out as you knit.
I knitted a different cape because the instructions didn’t make sense to me. Here are my instructions for the cape that I knitted:
CO 14 in cape color.
Row 1 - knit
Row 2 - purl
Row 3 - kfb along, (28 sts)
Row 4 - k2, p24, k2
Row 5 - knit
Row 6 - repeat row 4
Row 7 - kfb along (56 sts)
Row 8 - k2, p52, k2
Row 9 - knit
Rows 10-13 - repeat rows 8 & 9 twice (4 rows)
Row 14 - BO 12 sts (purlwise) k2, p40, k2 (44 sts)
Row 15 - BO 12 sts (knitwise) k to end of row (32 sts)
Row 16 - k2, p28, k2
Row 17 - knit
Row 18-35 - repeat rows 16 & 17, 9 more times (18 rows)
Row 36 - repeat row 16
BO and weave in loose ends.
Add decorative trim, shank button and crochet a small loop closure.
** Note: I would add at least 2 rows (maybe 5 to be safe) to each of the skirt lengths since they don’t seem to be long enough to cover the heads completely on my finished doll(s) when flipped in either direction. Looking at other peoples’ photos that have made the dolls seems to show that they too may have this same problem. Maybe my detailing and embroidery tightened up the length some?
