As I’m only knitting from my stash currently I had to deal with amounts of maximal three skeins of each shade and sometimes even different dye lots. So I didn’t use the original stripe scheme but made up my own in a way to use full capacity of my yarn.
The shades seem a bit drab but this is exactly what I would wear every day. The sweater suits me well and I’m very happy with the result. This kind of top-down pattern is exactly what I was looking for and I’m definitely going to use it for other projects, since it’s easy to customise it as I go.

Im weaving in the ends as I go which saves me from having to deal with lots of ends when finishing the sweater.

Mods
Provisional CO 116 sts - I prefer a wider neck.
One additional set of short rows
Decreases after joining front and back to reduce the width - 4 sts every 8th round
Decreases for sleeves - 2 sts every 12th round
Width of stripes - 24 rounds (which is approximately 1 skein for the stripes of the body)
2x2 rib looks neater for me than 1x1 rib
