For this one I’m going to have a go at helical knitting, to use up some of my leftovers from the previous socks. And I’m also go to try out the short row heel. The written pattern and brilliant TikTok videos make it look easy! Fingers crossed…

Update - finished. The helical knitting was terrific, I loved how easy it was, and there’s no jogs with the colour changes. I even managed to use different colours for the cuff, heel, and toes.

The German Short rows were also pretty easy - the video on TikTok is brilliant, and really helped me. However, I find this type of heel a little tight where the top of the foot joins the bottom of the leg.

Whilst it’s a lovely technique, I think I’ll stick to flap and gusset in future, as it’s a bit roomier.
