I’ve fallen in love with making these ragdolls. They generally have a flat body and a stuffed head. I’ve made a few now, and they’ve always been really well loved by the children I’ve given them to.

So I just had to buy A La Sascha’s book from Amazon which has loads of different heads and styles.

This is the first one, and I’ll definitely be making more.

It’s quite big, about 22” from tip of ear to tip of toes. Others in the book are not as big, so there’s a good choice of styles and sizes.

The pattern for this particular one is really clever, and takes into account the “lean” when crocheting in the round so that it stays straight.

The colour not in use is stranded across the back, catching it in every few stitches, and making sure not to pull it too tight, or leave it too floppy.

I didn’t have any safety noses and was going to embroider the nose. However, once finished, I thought it looked just as fabulous without a nose. I have used safety eyes, so this one won’t be going to a small child.
