I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to master this technique. It looks very complicated, but actually is really very simple, and Tinna’s videos on YouTube are brilliant.

I made a couple of swatches to practice and get gauge, and was delighted at how easy this extraordinary technique is.

So I’m off - I’m using up a bucket of scraps and leftovers. I’m certainly going to need to buy more “scraps”!!! One thing’s for sure, my scrap basket is NEVER going to be empty.

Loving how this is coming together so far. I’m going to write each colour that I’ve got on a slip of paper, and pick them at random. That way, I won’t waste time agonising over which colours to use next.

My plan to select random colours went out the window as it progressed and I got more confident about putting colours together.

Absolutely love the double border. It was really easy to work up.

Blanket made with Aran and a 4mm hook. Slip stitches for border picked up with a 5mm book. Envelope border worked with a 3mm hook, and it’s beautifully flat and square.
