Notes

I saw this pattern just a few days before our trip to Auburn, AL to see our daughter graduate from college. I thought of this quilt non-stop and while on our trip, a friend gifted me the pattern. I couldn’t wait to start it, so I did a quick search on my iPhone to see if Auburn had a yarn store. Last time I looked, there were no LYS in the area. However, to my surprise, TWO stores have opened up. One in Auburn (but it closed early the day I stopped by) and one in Opelika called Yarnhouse Studio. I shopped at Yarnhouse Studio that afternoon and picked out a skein of Berroco Sox and some double pointed needles to get me started. Then I stopped by Wal-Mart to pick up some stuffing.

~NOTES~
I have to say that I knitted the first two Hexipuffs and was unhappy with the cast on and my three needle bind off, so I ripped them out and I’m now using the magic cast on method (using this video) along with the kitchener bind off (using this video) and I’m now much happier with my results. The only other changes I made were to use ssk instead of s2k and I end with a decrease row leaving 20 stitches total, then bind off in Kitchener.
