My recycling/upcycling project.

I had: old sweater measure M
I needed: Leggings measure EU40

Yarn quality: 50 gr - 250 meters
Needles: 2 mm (5x) and 2,5 mm (round)

  1. disconnect carefully all details from each other.

  2. Dissolve knitting up to:
    Back: up to armpits;
    Breast: 5 cm/ 2 inch under armpits;
    Arms: up to armpits (If you have a very long sweater you should dissolve more by Back and Breast parts. In the end it shoud be about 20 en 25 cm for the measure M)

  3. Start with arm sleeves, which will be legs. Knit up to hips every arm sleeve apart.

  4. The back part of sweater I used for back hip’s part of leggings, and the front part - for front hip’s part. But turn it upside down. The back part is longer than front part, so it is necessary to ply when connect. It will create the volume for the buttocks.

  5. Connect legs with a hip’s part. Let free about 7 cm/3 inch between for gusset. (For the leg’s parts I let free about 1/4 of loops from every leg).

  6. Take these free loops form hip’s part on the needle and knit a gusset. The 1st and last loop knit together with the free lops of your leg parts. Begin from the front part, finish on the back.

  7. Put the elastic in you waist.

  8. Enjoy!
