30/8 - Another knit from Rowan 54, my fourth in fact. I really liked the chevron pattern on this jumper the first time that I saw it in the magazine and bought the yarn on sale at a bargain price a while ago as it’s now a discontinued colour. The colour is perfect complement for some of my winter work clothes.
So far I have knitted the back and it is as lovely as I hoped that it would be. After having knitted lacy patterns for the last few months this is making a nice change. The pattern is just enough to make you pay a bit of attention and using little stitch markers between the repeats means that I am much less likely to make mistakes.

Back and front complete. Love the effect of the chevron pattern.

Finally finished this sweater after the saga of the top of the second sleeve. First time I used some left over yarn in the same colour way, different lot, to finish the top of the second sleeve as it looked exactly the same colour. No, it wasn’t, there was a very subtle difference which I couldn’t live with, knowing that I had more yarn from the same lot that the rest of the jumper had been knit in. I was just trying to use up the remaining few metres of a ball. Lesson learnt here.
Second time I got carried away and knitted more rows than I needed to.
Third time perfect. Phew!!!!
The only thing which I am not 100% happy with is the cast off on the neck which has put the moss stitch at a slight angle. I think that this is what has done it as before casting off it looks straight. I have tried 4 times using different methods and sizes of needle but to no avail. This is the best that I have done. If anyone has any advice on how I could correct this I would love to hear from them.
However, overall I just love this jumper and know that it will get plenty of wear this autumn/winter. It has a slight 60s vibe going on and the chevron pattern is quite mesmerising.
P.S. I included a photo of the wrong side of the jumper as whilst I wouldn’t wear it this way I really like the effect it has created.
