Mods:

• Knitting a Medium to get a Small… I did a swatch and I was waaay off (too small, this yarn is really fine, more than an average worsted yarn. Divided the total num. of sts on the chest per sts in swatch, and it resulted in 8 times 10 cm swatch, thus very close to the Small size… I love mathematics!! (I hope the calculations are correct).

• Row gauge is waaay smaller… I couldn’t get it right on any needle size, so I gave up… I’m going to add extra rows as I deem necessary (trying it on as I go).

• Made shorter rib, for a deeper neck and… less rib… I don’t like long ribbing.

• I did do extra increases before separating for the arms… I can’t remember how many, but I followed my intuition and also kept measuring against my chest, to make sure it fitted perfectly…

• I kept measuring as I knitted, and increased following my body measures.

• Used exactly 356 gr of yarn = 712 meters = 779 yards

• Came out PERFECT!!! Perfect size…. only the sleeves are slightly tight in the upper part, but I will block them aggressively and that should do.

About the yarn:

• Absolutely soft, luscious, with a silk-like lustre and feeling. I couldn’t be happier with it, I wholeheartedly recommend it!

• Though worsted, is really thin (the fibre is very compact), the recommended needle size can’t possibly work for this yarn.

• Oddly enough, it doesn’t grow a lot after blocking, unlike other alpaca fibres. So don’t count on blocking!
